Doorstep Library:
The #WhereDoWordsTakeYOU? Summer Reading Campaign

To celebrate their 10th birthday Doorstep Library have launched the #WhereDoWordsTakeYOU? summer reading campaign, encouraging people to share their reading journeys.

They want to get children and adults everywhere, to tell them what exciting places they go to when they read. This could be a journey in a story, or a journey in life – it’s entirely up to you!

The #WhereDoWordsTakeYOU campaign is backed by a number of leading children’s authors, including Cressida Cowell, Children’s Laureate and author of the How to Train Your Dragon series.

To see a full list of campaign supporters and read their journeys with words please visit here.

It’s easy to get involved, simply go to the Doorstep Library website and fill out a special Online Postcard. – Tell us in 50 words or less where you go when you read, starting with the phrase:  “Words take me …”

Alternatively, you can download a copy of the postcard here to write, or even draw, your reading journey which can be emailed to us.

They are also running a special competition for younger readers (up to and including age 11) to win their age in books!  All postcards for children aged 0-11 will automatically be entered into their free prize draw and one lucky child will win a fantastic stack of books.

All you need to do is pick up a book and tell us where words take you this summer!

Postcards will be featured on the campaign page as well as on the Doorstep Library social media channels.
